Tendering & Contract Documentation
Competitive tendering remains the usual basis for construction contract awards. The Bill of Quantities is a fundamental instrument in this process. The Bill of Quantities translates the consultants drawings, plans and specifications into the words and quantities ensuring that each contractor tenders on exactly the same basis as his competitors. The production of accurate, complete and co-ordinated tender documentation is one of the most important activities in order to achieve a successful outcome and we pride ourselves in this regard. During construction of a project the Bill of Quantities provides the basis for effective financial management of the contract. Upon the receipt of tenders, DWP will examine tenders received for arithmetical errors, inconsistencies, tender qualifications and tender exclusions. DWP will thereafter advise on the "most economically advantageous tenders" to the client.
